Wednesday again! Here's WWBH!

OK, so I'm a bit late with my WWBH post, but this week is going so quickly I might just pretend it's Wednesday again. Is that alright with you folks?

Debb is in charge this week with the prompts, so here she is ...

Hello dear friends! Happy First Day of Autumn!

I don't know about you, but Autumn to me means: back to writing. I'm so sorry I wasn't able to write a story this week, but I'll give you a hint: The three stories below all touched me and made me smile.

Take a look:
The News by Scott Taylor

Trick In The Treat by Leanne Sype

Will You... by Heather Musk

I challenge myself, and you, too, to submit a story by next Tuesday evening, September 30th.

In case you aren't familiar with the guidelines, they are:

1) Use the two photos or one photo and five mandatory words, whatever is given, in your story.
2) Keep your word count 500 or less.
3) You have until next Tuesday night to link up your story to the little blue frog at the bottom.
4) Have fun, don't stress, and let those creative juices flow!
5) Check back next Wednesday to read the new stories -- if they touch you in any way, please feel free to reblog them.

Okay...ready for the prompts? I held back from choosing five words (my favorite kind of prompt) and will go with the two-photo prompt idea...

It's fun to be in the ... WWBH!!!

So, we're now halfway through the second week of little legs being back at school, and it's been really weird for me after having her around for six weeks. I've felt a little lost if I'm honest!

Baby legs is starting to fall into a loose routine now, and I'm working around her to get things done of the writerly and readerly kind. I'm so pleased about this, I've actually managed to submit a story for last weeks WWBH prompts! Yippee!

I know you're probably familiar with the drill by now, but just in case you're not ...

The rules are pretty simple:
  • There is either one picture and five random words, or two pictures given out each Wednesday, which are to be used in the story.

  • The word count must be 500 words or less.

  • The deadline to link up is Tuesday of the following week.
  • Please include the pictures and/or random words in your post, with clear reference to the WWBH. This is a community forum, with an aim to share and encourage around the blogosphere. It's important to link back to one of us so that we can spread the word of your fabulous flash fiction entries.

  • Don't forget to link up with one of the lovely hostesses:
Leanne Sype at Writings and Ruminations

Tena Carr at Jottings and Writings

Debb Stanton at Stanton Sunshine

  • Most importantly, have fun!

Before we get to the fresh new prompt for this week, cast your eyes over these efforts from last week. Hopefully they'll get you inspired and fired up to bring your own contribution to the table!

Help me ... by Heather Musk

And for this week, how about making a story out of this ...

 and this ...

Good luck everyone!

Give me a W! Give me a W! And a B! And an H! It's time for WWBH!!!

Hello to all! I hope you're all having a good week.

The sun is still shining here, thankfully, and I'm finally getting back to some kind of normal now the kiddies have gone back to school. There's certainly something beautiful about being able to enjoy your own thoughts again without a constant background noise of television, music, or 'mum, can I have ...' and 'mum, can I just ...'

Tena is our host for this weeks hop and photo reveal, so it's over to you Tena!

Hey there fellow bloggers...

Here we are at the midway point of the week and at the "Wednesday Writer Blog Hop" time. Make sure you read the rules (outlined below) . The rules are simple, but we have gotten some entries that have been questionable as to whether or not they were actually related to the "hop". Before I go further, let us look at last week's entries:

Okay, now that you're back... Here's a quick run through of the rules.

1) You will have until the following Tuesday to submit your entry.

2) We ask that you keep your story to approximately 500 words (give or take). We aren't counting but, please, no 1000+ entries.

3) *sorry, this is a bit long but important* In order to honor the community-purpose of the blog hop, please Do Not share photos and/or prompt words as your own. We ask that you please include the photo(s) and reference the blog hop in your post so your blog audience and the blog hop community may all be connected. (If you need assistance with inserting the photos, please let one of the hop ladies know via the comments). Photos are the property of the hostess for the week, unless otherwise mentioned. Thank you so much for understanding! Let us know if you have questions on this. :)

4) When 1 photo/5 words is the theme, the 5 words MUST be clearly referenced in your story. Variations on a word are allowed within reason (for example: adding s, ed, ing to the word to be grammatically correct); However creating a new, unrelated, word is not.

5) Link your story to linky/froggy below (direct link to story, not your whole blog, please). If you are unable or need help, contact your hop host: Leanne, Debb, Heather, or myself.

6) Most Important, Have Fun and let those creative juices flow... We look forward to reading what you write.

Here is this weeks photo:

And the 5 Random Words that must be included are:
  • Gunnysack
  • Pathology
  • Croquet (the game)
  • Elate
  • Human

At the hop!!! The WWBH hop that is...

Hello all! It's a rather misty morning here in the UK as I write this. I wonder if that's it for our summer, and if it's all down hill from here. Still, the winterly nights are a great excuse to stoke up the wood-burner in our new house! Mmmm, cosy ...

But enough of that crazy winter talk! It's not here just yet, and there are still plenty of Writer Wednesday blog hop prompts to get in beforehand too.

This week Leanne is in charge of the prompts, so without further ado, here she is ...

It has been a slow couple of weeks for the Writer Wednesday Blog Hop, but that isn't uncommon for the end of summer. So let's take a deep breath, stretch our creative muscles and dive in this week.

You ready?

Here are the rules for the blog hop:

1) Use the photo and five mandatory words to create a 500-words or less story; all elements of the prompt must be a feature in the brief story you create.

2) Stay with the 500-word limit.

3) Craft and link your post by the following Tuesday.

4) When you have finished your post, link up your story using the inLinkz frog at the bottom of the prompt. If you have trouble, let one of us know in the comments section and we'll help you get linked up.

5) We were going to tell you to not take this too seriously, but reconsidered it because we know full well that asking writers to write something means that they will take it seriously. So, take it seriously, but don’t fret/panic/pass out/hyperventilate/lose sleep/run in fear over it.

Ready? It's a tough one, but we can do it!
